Is your beef halal?

Our beef is halal certified beef at our Leicester Meridian and Leicester Cheapside stores in the UK. However, we serve pork and alcohol which prevents the stores from being halal certified.

Is this a halal restaurant?

Our Leicester Meridian & Leicester Cheapside stores are not halal certified. The beef in these stores is halal certified, however, we serve pork and alcohol which prevents the stores from being halal certified

Do you cook the bacon (pork) on the same grill as the beef?

We cook the bacon (pork) in the morning ahead of opening and then thoroughly clean the grill and utensils before cooking the beef.

Why do you not serve hot dogs anymore?

As our hot dogs are not halal certified and would be cooked at the same time as the halal certified beef, they have been removed from the menu in our Leicester Cheapside and Leicester Meridian stores. In future, we may look to introduce a halal certified hot dog.

Why do you offer halal beef in these stores?

We are working to bring Five Guys burgers & fries to everyone.

 What have you done to your beef to make it halal?

Our halal beef is prepared following specific religious practices, as required to become halal certified, whilst maintaining humane and ethical standards.

Is your halal beef certified by a recognized halal certification body?

The beef is halal certified by HCO (Halal Certification Organisation).

Does the halal beef taste different?

The taste does not change. We follow the same standards when cooking the patties to create our delicious burgers.
